Shalom Ulpanon Bet Families,
This week we talked about two special holidays: Lag Ba’Omer and Mother’s Day. We shared that Bar Kochva and Shimon Bar Yochai won the war against the Romans, and the Jewish people had the freedom to celebrate Shabbat, say blessings and study Torah. As a symbol of this victory, bonfires were lit to pass the message and announce this to everyone. We celebrated Lag Ba’Omer with a wonderful outdoor picnic; we roasted marshmallows and made smores, snacked on watermelon, corn-on-the-cob, and chocolate cake that we decorated to look like a bonfire. We also enjoyed Mitz Petel - raspberry juice. The children were excited to share why their mom is special to them, how they like to spend time with mom and what nice words they would like to say for Mother’s Day. We learned how to write Eema in Hebrew and had fun practicing our writing on a dry-erase board. During P.E with Coach Danny, we practiced our kicking skills and worked on leg-eye coordination; we played “Land, air, sea”, as the children practiced different movements with each turn. We also focused on spatial awareness and respecting personal space. This week was Zev’s special library day. Thank you Eszter for reading to us: “Even Superheroes Have Bad Days” and “Finding Winnie” - a true story about the history of Winnie the Pooh. The kids had a blast during music with Ditza. We sang songs for Lag Ba’Omer, played instruments and shook our bodies. Here are links to two of the songs: Habayit Sheli,https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9a3CfBD616c.
